{review} Inspiring Words

The adult coloring book craze is at an all time high. What was once a specialty item that was only in large bookstores or sold online is now available everywhere! My oldest two daughters really love these coloring books. They have several different ones, from intricate paisley designs to birds to hair … it seems like these is a book for everyone.

I hadn’t yet really gotten into the coloring books myself, because let’s be honest. I just don’t have the time on an average day to sit and color! I’m sure most moms feel the same way. The tiny designs of most coloring books is almost overwhelming for a non-artsy person like me. But when I saw this coloring book from Zondervan, I knew it was a little different for a couple of reasons:

One, the designs are not as intricate. They are so pretty but leave more space on the page. It’s not overwhelmed with those little black lines!

Second, and most importantly, every page has a Scripture verse. As I was coloring in each word, it was so refreshing and meaningful to be taking time “for me” to relax and color, but while I was, I could really meditate on that verse.

While I don’t know that I’ll ever slow down enough to finish a whole page in one sitting, I do love that my daughters enjoy this coloring book so they can also be meditating on Scripture while enjoying their favorite new hobby. This coloring book is available here from Zondervan for $9.99. It has 30 verses in it, with a good variety from both the Old and New Testaments. The pages are thick enough to stand up to using thin markers, but we put an extra paper between the pages to prevent any marks from bleeding through.
