{review & giveaway} gMovies

Who doesn’t love the freedom and ease of streaming television services? They are affordable, you can watch what you want and there are no commercials. It really is the best way to watch television.

The issue we’ve had with the popular streaming services is that even when on ‘family’ mode or searching in the kids category – we still came across things that we didn’t feel were appropriate for our family. I didn’t feel comfortable letting my daughters browse through the menus to find a show to watch without me, because more often than not, there was something we were not interested in them seeing.

When FlyBy Promotions contacted me about gMovies, I was so excited to see that all our concerns had been addressed. Finally, a streaming service that really is 100% family friendly! Here’s a little more about gMovies:

gMovies offers instant access to almost 300 faith friendly feature films of every genre, in addition to animated stories, television series and biblical documentaries. Always available on your computer or mobile device, gMovies also includes the bible-based animated series “Pahappahooey Island;” teen drama “Much Ado About Middle School” starring Bill Cobbs, Lee Meriwether and Amanda Waters; and the “Left Behind” drama series starring Kirk Cameron and based on the New York Times bestselling books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

gMovies is operated by UP, America’s favorite television channel for uplifting music and family entertainment, so rest assured that you are being offered the very best in faith conscious entertainment. The Parents Television Council™ has twice awarded its Entertainment Seal of Approval™ to UP for being “an authentic family-friendly cable network.” UP is the only television network to be so honored.

So far, we’ve installed the gMovies app on the kids’ iPad and they are loving it. One of my girls gets up very early (very early) and she has to find something quiet to do so she doesn’t disturb her sleeping sisters. This has been her go to for the last few days. I love that I can have full confidence that what she’s watching is family friendly. This morning, she was telling about  a Bible cartoon she had watched. I love that!

We were pleasantly surprised at how crisp the picture is while we’re streaming a show. In the past, we’ve had issues with blurriness. The main menu is very easy to use and the shows are categorized very nicely. It was easy to stream show on my computer. We did have a bit of difficulty trying to stream shows using our gaming system. But I’m also not very familiar with browsing the web through it so I may have done something wrong.
