{review & coupon} Music in Our Homeschool

I’m sure that the last thing on your homeschool mom mind is adding something new to your lesson plan. The holidays are swiftly approaching and we all just want to soak up family time! But those couple of weeks in limbo between Thanksgiving and Christmas can’t just be filled with cookies and playing in the snow, for most of us. With older children, we have to do some school. Bummer, I know. You moms with little ones have it good, don’t forget that! One thing I did a few years ago was what we called Christmas School. Keeping up with the foundational things – math, phonics/English, spelling – but then adding in special courses that made things a bit more fun. When I heard about Music In Our Homeschools, I was hoping they’d have something we could use that everyone would enjoy. And of course they did – Intro to Musicals.

Ten lessons on ten different musicals. Read about the story and background, watch video clips, work on one printable per lesson, take an online quiz, and explore links to outside sites with other materials to enrich your study. The ten musicals are Annie, Seussical, Cats, James and the Giant Peach, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mary Poppins, Newsies, Annie Get Your Gun, The Music Man, and The Wizard of Oz.

Taught by veteran homeschool mom of 8 children, Gena Mayo has a wealth of knowledge that she enjoys shaing with other homeschool families. I have reviewed Intro to Musicals in depth – mostly because once I started going through it I wanted to watch more! – and it is a fun, informative, and well written course that your children will love. Even though it is written for elementary students, my high school and middle school students will be joining us for it. Gena has done an amazing job at scouring the internet for the best clips and information about these ten musicals, making it so easy for a mom like me to just jump right into. And like any mom knows, we all like a good deal. Gena has a great sale running through November 30 on this course as well as her other elementary course, 15 Minute Music Lessons —

Maybe you don’t enjoy musicals or you want a more broad musical topic? Gina has three other courses available that match just about any need! And the best part is – they’re all on sale! Once you purchase them, you have lifetime access to the courses so you can grab them now at a reduced rate and use them as you need to!

I’m looking forward to going through Intro To Musicals again with my daughters! What do you have planned for your December school? Why not add something new and different? Grab these courses while they’re on sale!
