{review} Children’s Easter Books

One last #booksforEaster post! This one focuses on two affordable books for the young children in your life.

The First Easter Ever is a great book for introducing IMG_2499children to the story of Jesus. It starts with Jesus beginning His ministry around age 30 and includes his baptism, gathering His disciples, Judas’ betrayal and gently tells of how Jesus was tortured by the guards before being hung on the Cross. The books details Jesus resurrection and his time with the disciples before His ascension. I think it’s easy for children’s books to gloss over the difficult details of this story. Jesus experienced terrible pain to die for our sins and I think it’s important that children understand that from a young age. This book communicates that in a way that isn’t graphic or scary. I recommend The First Easter Ever for ages 3-9.  And with the price being $1.99 – you can’t beat it!

The Beginner’s Bible Stories About Jesus is a solid, well made board book.I don’t know if I’m the only one but when my girls were toddlers, they were excellent at destroying cheap board books. This book would have challenged them, for sure! Stories About Jesus starts with Jesus’ birth and continues on to tell of some of the miracles He performed. It ends with a simple telling of the Easter Story. The illustrations are colorful and fun. Each story is well communicated for children up to age 5.

We have really enjoyed looking at some new books that are available for Easter this year. What are your favorites?

{I received these books from Zondervan as a part of the ZBlogSquad. All opinions are my own and no guarantees were made.}
